Despite the popularity of painted woodwork in home decor, natural wood will always be a great design option in terms of materials and finishing. To make the wood an intentional part of the decor rather than an afterthought, you have to work with its colour intensity and its undertones. In case you've got reproduction or original woodwork specific to a particular architectural design, choosing period-appropriate or complementary furnishings is also critical for a well-decorated appearance. Don't try to match all of your wood furniture pieces to your trim. Engineered wood finishes adds thickness and creates a collected-over-time appearance. A mixture of light, light and dark finishes matches all spaces. For smaller pieces which don't sit flush against the walls, feel free to combine warm and stylish finishes as well. You don't need to use period-specific furniture with period woodwork, but do avoid combinations that clash.
This was the second clock I purchased from S&H. Both times I could not fault the service. Clocks are awesome and when I emailed about something they got back to me in 24hrs. Will be ordering again from S&H. Highly recommended.
